Dr Tegwyn Harris is a former principal lecturer at Exeter University. He was born in the village of Penyrheolgerrig near Merthyr Tydfil. He graduated in Zoology from the University of Wales, Swansea, before earning postgraduate degrees at the University of Wales, Swansea, and Exeter University in studies focusing on marine biology, focusing on the ecology of estuaries and the biology of Ophelia bicornis. He was a lecturer and then principal lecturer in the School of Biological Sciences, Exeter University. His scientific interests include the ecology of the coast and estuaries and orchids.
