Mike Pearson is Professor of performance studies at Aberystwyth University. Over a period of 30 years, he has pioneered in innovative attitudes to performance, from the perspective of theory, education, documentation and practice, in Wales and beyond. He was Artistic Director of Cardiff Laboratory Theatre from 1973 to 1980 and of Brith Gof, from 1981 to 1997. He then worked with Mike Brookes for the Pearson/Brookes group, creating most recently multi-site works in an urban context. He, along with Michael Shamks, is co-author of Theatre/Archaeology (Routledge 2001); the title of his monograph is 'In Comes I': Performance, Memory, and Landscape (Exeter University Press, 2006).
