Gwynedd Parry is Professor of Law and Legal History at Swansea University. He began his career as a barrister and has continued as a member of the profession with a tenancy at Temple Chambers, Cardiff. He was then a lecturer and senior lecturer in Swansea. His main research interest is the history of law, and in particular the relationship between legal phenomena and national and linguistic identity. He has a particular interest in the development of Legal Wales. He is also interested in criminal justice, arising from his experience as a legal practitioner. He has published widely. He is a fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a member of the Welsh Legal History Society committee.
