Siân Wyn Siencyn

Dr Siân Wyn Siencyn is a pioneer in the field of Early Childhood as an academic discipline, in which she has published many books and articles. She graduated in English from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and spent over twenty-five years supporting young people and families as a teacher, advisor, policy developer and researcher. She later joined the staff of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Carmarthen, and she was prominent in establishing the School of Early Years in the institution in 2000, developing the department as a leader of its field over the fifteen years she was its head. She was also a member of the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol’s Academic Board and she led a number of the Coleg’s funded projects at UWTSD. In 2017, she was made an honorary fellow of the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol for her contribution to Welsh medium higher education.
