Mirain graduated with a BSc in Psychology from Bangor University, before studying towards a doctorate at the School of Education under the supervision of Professor Enlli Thomas, in which she received in 2013. Her field of study was the impact of bilingual education on children’s cognitive and linguistic skills and parental attitudes towards bilingualism. Since 2012, she has been working as a research fellow in WISERD (Wales Institute of Social & Economic Research, Data & Methods). She has worked with Professor Chris Taylor on research projects evaluating Welsh Government education programmes, such as evaluating the Foundation Phase. Mirain is now working on the WISERD Education project with Professor Sally Power.
