An article on Pokémon scoops Gwerddon Award

This year's winner is Dr Geraint Palmer, lecturer in the School of Mathematics at Cardiff University, for his article ‘Multi-objective linear programming to find the best Pokémon team

The Gwerddon Award is sponsored by the Learned Society of Wales, and is awarded every two years to the author of the best article published in Gwerddon in the last two years.

Nominations for the award were submitted by members of Gwerddon's Editorial Board, and it was up to editor and deputy editor, Professor Anwen Jones and Dr Hywel Griffiths, to choose who would come out on top. Both were in agreement that Dr Geraint Palmer's article was the winner this year.

Geraint will receive a trophy and £100 donated by the Learned Society of Wales.
