Robert Ieuan Palmer was brought up in the Rhondda Valley before graduating with a BSc in Physics and an MSc in Medical Physics from Aberystwyth and Swansea universities. He received his doctorate from Swansea University in 2016 for a thesis on automatic medical image analysis. He now works for Cedar, a healthcare technology research centre which is part of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, and is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Biomedical Engineering Research Group at Cardiff University. As part of his work, he is a member of NHS Wales’ national PROMs, PREMs and Effectiveness Programme’s analytical team.
