Jonathan Morris is Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Lecturer in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics at the School of Welsh, Cardiff University. His research focuses on sociolinguistic attitudes towards bilingualism and second language acquisition. He is interested in how languages are used and how social factors influence how people produce speech in bilingual and second-language contexts. His recent work includes an analysis of /l/ in the speech of bilingual Welsh-English speakers (Journal of Sociolinguistics) and a study of how Welsh is transferred and used within the family (Welsh Government).
