Y Seren yn y Groes: effaith deddfau imperialaidd cynnar Rhufain ar y berthynas rhwng yr Eglwys a’r Iddewon
Gareth Evans-Jones

Tymhestlog fu hanes perthynas yr Eglwys Gatholig Rufeinig a’r Iddewon, ac yn yr erthygl hon archwilir y modd yr effeithiodd deddfau imperialaidd cynnar Rhufain ar y berthynas honno. Gan gymryd detholiad o ddeddfau, ystyrir y modd y cawsant effaith ar safle cymdeithasol yr Iddew mewn byd a oedd yn troi’n fwyfwy Cristnogol. Eir ymlaen i drafod y modd yr ailgyflwynwyd ambell ddeddf wrth-Iddewig yn ystod yr Oesoedd Canol yn ogystal ag yn ystod y digwyddiad erchyll a oedd yn dyngedfennol i’r Iddew a’r Cristion, yr Holocost. Daw’r erthygl i ben gan bwyso a mesur gwir arwyddocâd y deddfau imperialaidd cynnar a chan gwestiynu perthynas yr Iddew â’r Cristion yn yr unfed ganrif ar hugain.
