Mae deugain mlynedd o waith ymchwil wedi nodi sawl un o’r prosesau seicolegol sy’n sail i’r gallu i ddarllen. Serch hynny, tan yn ddiweddar, bu seiliau gwybyddol (cognitive) rhuglder darllen yn gymharol anhysbys. Yn yr adolygiad hwn, rhoddir disgrifiad o ruglder darllen fel ffenomen wybyddol a niwrofiolegol, gan gynnwys y gwaith ymchwil a wnaed i ddeall y broses hon. Mae fy ngwaith i a’m cyd-weithwyr yn canolbwyntio ar y maes hwn, ac amlinellaf ein prif ganfyddiadau hyd yma. Deuir â’r gwaith i’w derfyn drwy amlinellu goblygiadau’r gwaith mewn perthynas â deall rhuglder darllen yn achos oedolion medrus ynghyd â’r rhai sydd â’r cyflwr dyslecsia.
